((Chart)) in association with NZ Trade & Enterprise are proud to present an opportunity for Christchurch artists and managers to meet international music licensing expert Bob Hunka on Thursday, 10 May 2007, 7-9pm.
Bob Hunka is a seasoned veteran of the US entertainment industry with more than 30 years experience, many of these as a senior Hollywood executive. During his career, he's worked with Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, James Taylor and Albert Lee, managed Dolly Parton's music publishing companies, held roles as General Manager of Monument Records (label home to Roy Orbison, Dolly Parton and the Dixie Chicks) and Director of West Coast Operations for C.M.I (a music publishing licensing and administration service). Until 2005, he was Senior Vice President, Television Music at Sony Pictures Television: during his 15+ years with the company he worked on series such as, Who’s the Boss, Dawson’s Creek, Married … with Children, Party of Five and Huff among many others. Bob Hunka left Sony in 2005 to provide independent consulting services to music industry clients including representing SOCAN (the Canadian Performing Right Association) Member Relations in Los Angeles. His extensive experience and knowledge covers all aspects of music synchronisation and licencing for film, television and digital content; music publishing; and scoring for screen content.
For the past 18 months he has been working with NZTE to promote New Zealand music to music supervisors, studio music executives and other taste- and decsion-makers in Los Angeles for use in international projects. Bob's brings an extensive wealth of knowledge and experience to this workshop panel - specifically on what you do to get your music placed and how to get it placed: the key step to start generating those revenues.
