Shocking Pinks (aka Nick Harte) has recently been picked up by the US label DFA, home to the LCD Soundsystem, the Juan Maclean, Hot Chip and former home of the Rapture. The Pinks' debut 12" single on DFA entitled Smokescreen, with a remix from Belgian duo the Glimmers has just been released and is the single of the month in both DJ Magazine and Mixmag.

The first pressing sold out pretty much immediately and the second run was in production according to a recent report on the DFA website. The track is taken from the Shocking Pinks' forthcoming debut self titled album for DFA, which is due out in America on September 25 and elsewhere in the world on September 17 via EMI. Flying Nun Records will be releasing it in New Zealand & Australia.

The Smokescreen remix is receiving some good club support, being played out by Prins Thomas, Rory Phillips (Trash / Our Disco), as well as picking up spins on XFM, BBC and Tim Sweeney's Beats In Space show.

The single will soon be available on the DFA webstore, and is currently available from a range of online retailers: Juno | Astral | Boomkat | Phonica | Sister Ray | Rough Trade | Pure Groove | Jumbo Records | Norman Records | Monorail Music | Banquet Records | Rounder Records | Piccadilly Records | Sounds Of The Universe

Next in the release pipeline apparently is a series of 7" singles taken from the forthcoming album, including the tracks This Aching Deal, Victims  and The Narrator.
