Mushroom Music NZ Signs Solaa

Mushroom Music Publishing New Zealand celebrates the signing of rock darlings Pluto and funk, soul, hip hop fusion supergroup Solaa. The songwriters from Solaa - Isaac Aesili, Dave Wright and Kurt Dyer - join the Mushroom Music roster. Released in 2006, Solaa's debut album 'Steps In Time' was a critical and commercial success, with their single Sylphlike reaching number one on NZ alternative radio.  Solaa have garnered love from across the globe, with Sylphlike and the stunning vox-led Chance being picked up on BBC's 1Xtra.  Chance and Eyes Shut were also playlisted on XM Satellite Radio which reaches across North America.The collective have played regularly throughout NZ and Australia alongside Shapeshifter, Fat Freddy's Drop, Dave Dobbyn, Salmonella Dub and Che Fu.  Having just returned from sold out shows on the east coast of Australia, Solaa are now writing for a new LP and gearing up for summer touring in NZ and Australia.

Pluto's third album, 'Sunken Water' will be released in September, closely followed by a nationwide tour with the reformed Supergroove and Crowded House.  Since the inception of Pluto in 2001, there have been many highlights for the Auckland 5-piece.  Dance Stamina won Song of the Year at the 2005 bNet awards and Long White Cross was a finalist at the 2005 Silver Scrolls as well as winning Single of the Year at the 2006 NZ Music Awards. The band has supported the likes of Muse, Gomez, The Dandy Warhols and Neil Finn and performed at SXSW in Austin, Texas twice.  The band's second album, 'Pipeline Under the Ocean', which was recorded in Auckland and London, is just a few sales shy of double platinum status.
