Many people are bedroom musicians; the Christchurch School of Rock allows young rockers the opportunity to experience the magic of “The Band” from practise room to stage. We will give you the ability to seriously Rock Out! And, we will have a crazy amount of fun while doing it! We are enrolling:
Bass players, Drummers, Singers, Guitarists, Keyboards, Woodwind & Brass... if you do play something else like bagpipes and want to be in a band then come and talk with us, I’m sure if ACDC used them, than we can to.

We use “The Band” to cover the following skills:
Jamming, Chops, (instrument technique), Composing/ Arranging , Stage craft (how to rock out on stage), Transcribing (how to learn songs), Industry skills i.e.. How to get gigs, what makes a good demo, how to get an audience, merchandise. Using today’s great rock tunes we expect the best from our students.

How does it work?
It all starts with an audition. This is to see your playing ability. You will then be put you into a band with other rockers of the same skill level. Your band will practice once a week for 1.5hrs.  Each term the School of Rock focuses on a particular genre or band. Everybody learns songs from the chosen genre or band and will also write at least one song a term in the same style. Each term ends on a huge high with all bands performing on stage in the "End of Term Show". .

What gear do I need?
 Drummers - sticks, Guitarists - guitar, lead and tuner, Keyboard players - just your fingers, Vocalists - voice, Wind/brass your instrument. The School of Rock provides the back line, so that’s: Drum kit, Bass Amp, 2 Guitar Amps, Keyboard and Amp, PA and Mics.

Session 1 - 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Session 2 - 5:30pm - 7:00pm
Session 3 - 7:30pm - 9:00pm
