OXJAM 07

Do what you love doing … just change the world whilst you’re doing it!
This October, Oxjam is back to make a big noise to Make Trade Fair! Oxjam is a New Zealand wide month of music with a message: that we can help bring an end to extreme poverty by making trade fair! Last year, over 300 musicians across New Zealand tagged their gigs as Oxjams – and literally thousands of New Zealanders partied against poverty. In 2007 Oxfam is again asking musicians, promoters and venues who are organising music events in (or around) October to support Oxjam…

It’s simple. We’re not asking for any financial commitment.
Only for the belief in what is just.

Oxfam believes trade has the potential to lift millions of people out of poverty. However, trade rules are rigged in favour of rich countries, leaving millions of people behind. We can change this situation. It’s not about charity, it’s about justice.  Use your musical influence to help MAKE TRADE FAIR.

By signing up gigs at your venue to become Oxjams you will become part of a massive global movement to Make Trade Fair. All we ask of you is:
•    Include an Oxjam logo on your promotional material where possible
•    Allow Oxjam volunteers entry to come and campaign at your gig

In return, The Oxjam team will
•    Promote your event nationwide on the Oxjam gig guide
•    Work with promo partners to help bring your gig increased publicity opportunities
•    Help you pull a bigger crowd
•    Co-ordinate Oxjam volunteers to campaign at your gig (asking people to sign the Make Trade Fair petition cards)

Support Oxjam 07 and make a big noise to Make Trade Fair.
