Fingerprint takes out UCSA Battle of The Bands 25th May 2007

After a huge NZ Music Month of fierce competition the UCSA Battle of the Bands 2007 final was held on Friday night at the Ballroom. With a large, amping, and vocal crowd in attendance, Canterbury’s finest student band talent took to the stage and delivered an awesome show. Five outstanding bands – Dangerbatt, Sunburn, The Deceivers, Fingerprint, and Denmark Street all stepped up in their quest to become the University’s Musical God’s for 2007. Taking out the title were BOB stalwarts Fingerprint. The boys played a blistering set with their technical class, tightness, and gigging experience really making the difference.
Be sure to check them out at their numerous upcoming gigs! A ridiculously close second went to The Deceivers who continue to amaze with their unique funk alternative sound and on-stage antics, these boys have huge potential and their stage show is not to be missed. Third place went to Denmark Street who put on a quality show with a bit of freaky hook up action and some wild guitaring – definitely a band to watch out for. But nothing can be taken away from Dangerbatt and Sunburn who both performed quality sets and also show massive promise for the future.
All in all 5 top quality student bands wrapped up an awesome month of gigs at the Ballroom. Look out for gigs featuring these bands in the near future coz there will be plenty of them!
