Urban Notion Touring Europe In August Local Drum n Bass Producers Spreading Their Music Overseas 26th July 2007

Christchurch-based drum n' bass producers Urban Notion, who have a number of tracks forthcoming and released on international labels, are heading overseas on a tour of Europe in August. The tour was organised following a booking at prestigious London club The End on August 24th. Urban Notion had their first single On The Southbound / Tora Bora released at the end of April on Total Science's UK- based label Advanced Recordings (released on 12" vinyl and digital download). They have music forthcoming on London-based label Progress Ltd and Goldie's label Rufige (sister label to Metalheadz), further releases on Advanced, and a single recently signed to German based Phunkfiction recordings. The crew have been building their profile in and around New Zealand over the past 5 years and have also performed in the USA, Japan, Thailand and Australia.
Urban Notion start their European tour on 2nd August, playing at the 'Inertia' night in the thriving student town of Huddersfield in northern England. The next day the crew make the long train ride to Brighton where they perform at the well-respected '170' night at Pressure Point in Brighton. They then jet off to Cyprus for two shows in the party towns of Aya Napa and Limassol.
Following this, Urban Notion head to the darkest reaches of Eastern Europe with performances in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, including a gig at the borders of Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Urban Notion head back to London on 24th August to play at DJ Friction's 'Shogun Audio' residency at London's Drum n' Bass mecca, The End. The crew were invited to perform at this gig by Friction after he saw them play at The Ministry in Christchurch. Also playing on the same bill at The End are luminaries such as Pendulum, DJ Zinc, Friction, Grooverider, Skream, Aquasky, Klute, Ctrl Z, Benji B and Reference.
Urban Notion's tour set encompasses saxophone and vocals in addition to the traditional DJ elements. The crew are looking forward to showcasing their unique variety of New Zealand drumn' bass to European audiences.
