Harking from the restless city of Christchurch, New Zealand, The Valves are an exciting new band who deliver a high octane rock sound. The band formed about two years ago, and were forged out of the fires of Wildside legends, Pumpkinhead and Slim. The band has been described as: “One of the most and interesting and passionate bands to explode on our shores. Not only do they know how to deliver a dynamic killer sound, they have the sensibility to expose a subtle and well crafted fragility.”
It’s been over two long years in the making but The Valves highly anticipated debut album “Liberty Angel” has finally been released. The album was recorded and mixed in both New Zealand and the U.S.A with an array of people lending their talents to the project including The Feelers front man James Reid and studio guru Malcolm Welsford, who produced Shihads Killjoy album.
“Liberty Angel burns with an intensity and a ferocity that is both dynamic and infectious. Songs full of passion and power that will erupt from your speakers then plant themselves surreptitiously into the subconscious”
The first single from the record “Walking In The Rain” has been embraced by New Zealand radio and television, and the second single “Light It Up” is set for the same hitting radio play lists around the country.
This promising up and coming rock band have been simmering just beneath the surface of rock n roll stardom in New Zealand and are set to blow big time in the coming months with support slots for both Bon Jovi and Ozzy Osbourne as well as a nationwide tour in the pipeline.
