Pikachunes is a new solo foray from Miles McDougall, having only really been playing for the last 8 months.
Ex-Tiny Paper Daggers and new Tiger Tones member, McDougall pushes the boundaries of modern dance music, coupling house beats with early consol sounds, driving bass lines and hard hitting synth hooks.

The future will see McDougall taking the his sounds up North, giving Auckland an injection of some good ol’ fashion southern doof doof.

Pikachunes is the first winner of RDU's latest addition to RoundUp the Best Demo competition for his track 'Fire'. As part of the prize he's off to Auckland to spend some time in the Red Bull studios with well-known producer, Recloose. As well as a session with Recloose he also gets a production session at the Red Bull Studio in Auckland, a years supply of Red Bull and a Red Bull mini cooler to keep it in.

Pikachunes has just finished a nationwide tour with O'Lovely and Tiger Tones playing dates in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, and has supported bands such as Thought Creature, Brand New Math, Bachelorette and Casiotone For The Painfully Alone (US)

Pikachunes debut EP is due out early 2010 with 5 tracks of McDougalls own brand of electro pop.

THE RDU BEST DEMO COMPETITION 2009
This is a competition to showcase what RDU will herald as the best produced track for 2009. Entries will be judged on the overall sound quality and production values and will include consideration of composition. The winner must be part of the production, but is not limited to playing a single role ie: composer and engineer.
