The World's Longest Line Dance

The Body Festival in association with the Christchurch Mail, and with the support of The Radio Network, presents an attempt at the world's largest line dance with Classic Hits Breakfast hosts Jason Gunn (Dancing With The Stars) and Dave Fitzgerald as your MC's.

Turn up from 5:30pm for some one-on-one tuition with Mary Stanley-Shepherd and the Cathedral City Line Dancers as they teach you the, especially commissioned, 'Body Festival Slide' line dance. At 7pm we go for the record.

Christchurch will soon be reverberating with the sound of synchronized stomping feet as residents transport themselves back to a bygone era when men still said "ma'am" and women still curtsied and a posse meant more than a group of Rap artists!

That's right, the good townspeople of Christchurch will soon be sliding along as the 2009 Body Festival launches itself off with another whopper - and it's smokin'!

Bring along the family, rope in your pals, or challenge your colleagues to a corporate showdown as united we stand (and slide!) along to the classic dance antham 'Dancing in the Street' accompanied by the charismatic Cathedral City Line Dancers. The routine is incredibly simple and easy but makes for a fantastic and fun shin-dig?

So grab your Stetson, cowboy boots and chequered shirt and mosey on down to Victoria Square to lend your hand (and legs!) to our world's largest line dance attempt.
