WHO IS TOM COSM?
Hi there, my name is Tom Cosm and I am a live electronic act from New Zealand. I am one of these geeky 2.0 artists who don't bother with doing things through labels and sales, instead I give all my music, techniques and live sets away free of charge on my interactive website [ www.cosm.co.nz ], as well as encourage anyone to rip, burn, share, copy and spread whatever they have far and wide.
My music is a unique blend of electro and prog, with a few hints of minimal... it's kinda glitchy, kinda funky...I reckon you'd be into it... if you want to have a listen, go ahead and visit my website to download my latest music directly to your mp3 player, it's really easy. I also perform my sets really live, as in all the knobs and buttons I push change the sound that is coming out the speaker, which of course means every single one of my sets is specific to that party, and I can improvise, change and move along with the vibe of the crowd, which usually results in something pretty cool.
As well as perform, I like to teach and give workshops on how to write music using computers to people who don’t really know where to start, as I was all self taught and know how daunting it can be at first.
So, that's me in a nutshell... you can find out heaps more at my website if you want learn some more, or just ask around a bit. If you find anyone with any of my music, you have my complete permission to steal it, copy it and give it back. Choice!
