Caledonian Hall, 135 Kilmore St, CBD, Christchurch
Sunday 28 Sept 2008, 12.30pm Lunch at 1pm, $50 donation per person, pre-sale only
On Sunday the 28th September, Hennessy Love Machine won’t be singing for their supper, they’ll be singing for suppers of the homeless and hungry in Canterbury. In association with award winning eatery; Restaurant Schwass, Hennessy Love Machine are providing musical entertainment for the City Mission Sunday Lunch, being held at the iconic Caledonian Hall – where every cent of the proceeds will go towards stocking the City Mission food bank before Christmas.
Hennessy Love Machine agree with Restaurant Schwass’ head chef and director Jonny Schwass who says not enough people who have the resources take the opportunity to help others – they’ve got the money and they talk about it, but nothing gets done. This is the band’s chance to get involved with something worthwhile, they can’t cook to save themselves but they sure can play a damn fine tune or two and if that helps entice folks to pay $50 for a ticket and bring relief to some people less fortunate, then they’ve done their job.
“Good to see the combined forces of the chch music mafia putting together something tasty and quite unique. HLM have something special, a bluesy driven smooth rock with undeniable appeal.”
– Ben Campbell - Zed, Atlas, Elements Music
Restaurant Schwass brings the food and drink, Hennessy Love Machine brings the sounds – you bring your generous heart and an appetite and you’ve got yourself one hell of a lunch! What better way to spend a Sunday.
