Cruise on up to Hanmer Springs next month to enjoy this very special new festival.

Hanmer Springs will be the place to go for the weekend of February 27^th and 28^th. “We’ve been planning this event for eighteen months and it’s very exciting to be hosting something like this at Hanmer Springs,” says festival organizer Graham Frith.

Soak in the diverse jazz and blues sounds at the resort town’s cafes – or pack an evening picnic and join the audience for an evening concert featuring artists such as Hot Club Sandwich, Paul Ubana Jones and Fiona Pears.

On Sunday morning, relax in the Village Green to the sounds of the Christchurch City Chorus, followed by brunch at your favourite café, where you’ll again be entertained by Jazz and Blues artists. Acclaimed artists performing over the weekend include Adrian Ford on piano, Delta Swing playing the old style Dixieland Jazz, and Liz Nicole singing her Blues renditions.

“One of the groups just phoned me to say they’re in rehearsal for the festival now and everything’s going well – everyone’s very excited and looking forward to performing here,” says Graham.

There will be no charge for all day-time performances at cafes and bars.

Entry to the evening concert is $20, with entertainment by a range of quality performers and groups starting from 5pm. Food and beverages will be on sale on site. Tickets will be on sale shortly from several venues in Hanmer Springs, or buy at the gate.
