The MMF is proud to announce the first international guest for our Online Seminars. On Thursday 19th June at 8pm MMF members will have the opportunity to speak with Jo Beckett from Stephen Budd Management UK. Jo has a wealth of experience in the UK across many sectors of the music industry from production to A&R to label and artist management (see bio Below). This is one not to be missed!

Jo Beckett Bio:
Started working in the music industry in 1988 for Richard Branson’s Virgin Records where she stayed for 5 years doing A&R/Production.

Thereafter she teamed up with a colleague to develop the Journey’s By DJ compilation series, the first legitimate ‘mix CD’ available in Britain, releasing 22 albums mixed by the best of the DJ scene at the time (Danny Rampling, Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, John Digweed, Giles Peterson and Norman Jay etc), notwithstanding the seminal COLDCUT album that is still revered as one of the best mixes today.

She also ran Brainiac & Confusion Records alongside JDJ. Following that Jo went into the publishing sector, working at Warner Chappell and Perfect Songs doing A&R and TV synch which quickly developed into artist/producer management where she set up on her own, looking after acts such as B-15 Project, Badmarsh & Shri, Finidolo as well as developing a handful of other London acts.

In 1993, Jo joined Stephen Budd Management to look after a roster of producers including Rick Nowels, Valgeir Sigurdsson, Mark Wallis, Soulpower, Steve Hilton, James Lewis, Colin Emmanuel etc... She continues to work for SBM alongside setting up a new label imprint ‘Beatroute Records’ with one of the infamous Osbourne siblings.
