The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards take place at the Vector Arena Auckland on October 8 and are set to be bigger and better than ever. This years event is hosted by Dai Henwood with performances by Tiki Tane, Anika Moa, Shihad, Cut off Your Hands, Kora, Scribe, Open Souls and Julia Deans and the Fast Women!
Now there’s room for thousands more music fans, a designated mosh pit, a bigger stage for bigger bands and the best of the best in New Zealand music. Limited fan tickets are available from Ticketmaster – but if you miss out on the action the event will be televised on the night of the event live on C4 from 8.30pm.
Kora, Shihad, Cut off your Hands, Anika Moa, Tiki Taane and Scribe are all confirmed to perform in front of the 5,000-strong crowd for this years Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
Legendary Dunedin band Straitjacket Fits – the recipient of the 2008 New Zealand Herald Legacy Award – is set to be honoured at the ceremony with a special performance by an all girl super group: the "Fast Women". Fur Patrol's Julia Deans will lead Anika Moa, Lani Purkis and Greta Anderson to perform Straightjacket Fits "She Speeds".
There's always heaps of action on the red carpet too. This year is no different with loads of free entertainment, spot prize give-aways and C4 Select Live filming live before the event. Red carpet starts at 6pm.
Public tickets to the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards cost just $47 plus booking fee and are available exclusively through Ticket Master.
