10th December 2007 - Press Release
Capital C: Concerts has released the name of the 2nd NZ band to play at Easter in Wellington. The Christchurch group The Valves has been picked to join headliners Ozzy Osbourne and Kiss along with Lordi and the other NZ band Sonic Altar. They are also opening for Capital C: Concerts in Christchurch on 27 January for Bon Jovi.
Wellington based promoter of Capital C: Concerts, Phil Sprey has been bombarded with scores of requests, DVD’s, CD’s and information from bands across Australasia who want to be part of this huge Easter event. ‘We picked The Valves largely as we see them becoming a real NZ force both domestically and internationally, they have a Kiwi edge others domestically do not have or through complacency have lost.” “Too many NZ bands are under the illusion they have ‘made it’ and then ignore the audiences and fans who put them there.” He went onto say that at the recent Southern AMP concert in Christchurch highlighted the fact that only 2-3 bands appearing (including the Valves) earned their money, the rest have become tired and boring.
The Valves will feature on the second Easter day (Sunday) ahead of Ozzy Osbourne.
