15th May 2008 - Press Release
Tandem Voice Booth is celebrating New Zealand music month with free music and a free open day at its recording studio.
Director Dave Dunlay said that “Christchurch has always produced quality creative musicians. Many of whom have gone onto international and national recognition. Some of those artists like Bic Runga, Anika Moa, Yulia and Salmonella Dub have all recorded at Tandem Studios and we’d like to think that the artists we have recorded recently have the same potential and through the ‘NZ music month podcast’ they may receive the same recognition”
The free podcast is called ‘Tandem's NZ music month podcast’ and features downloads from Christchurch artists such as Taos, recent roundup winners Bang Bang Eche and Hera amongst others. The podcast’ can be found at www.tandemvoicebooth.com.
Tandem Voice Booth is also holding a free open day at their recording studios on Saturday May 24, from 12pm to 4-30pm. The day is designed for Christchurch musicians to look through the studios, watch a live music recording session with Hera and then sit in the control room for the mixing and mastering and discussions with our studio engineers. There are limited spaces as the sessions need to be small so everyone can get value. Booking can be made at www.tandemvoicebooth.com,
Musicians and bands can also take advantage of the special offer of 15% off usual studio rates for a recording session, if they book before the end of NZ music month.
Dunlay says “Tandem studios have been recording in Christchurch since 1974 and we believe there is a lot of talent in Christchurch and we look forward to helping foster that talent”.
