The Harbour Sessions Coming Soon

delaney davidson harbour sessions wunderbar15th August 2008 - Press Release
The first Harbour Session launches this September 19th 2008 and promises to wrap the iconic Wunderbar in a shroud of acoustic-folk-indie-voodoo and goodness.

The Harbour Sessions draw on an Anti-Folk philosophy; that four songs is an optimum performance period for an audience to gain an appreciation for a scope of individual musicians. In furtherance of this principle, four local singer-songwriters will be playing four songs each, with an additional full length set from a special guest performer.

Joining the inaugural Harbour Sessions, and playing a 4 song set, will be Adam McGrath of the Eastern, back from a recent sojourn in the States.
Also, Kasper Lake, who draws on the folky sounds of Nick Drake, Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens and Bob Dylan, and blends it with a peculiar form of "aural weirdness" to produce his own rich and distinctive sound. The other excellent performers are Mark Soster, ex lead singer of early 90's band, The Dead Ferrets, and Rich Densem of local band Mustard.

Treating us to a full set is Delaney Davidson (Pictured: ex Dead Brothers and Voodoo Rhythm Records recording artist) who returns from a European tour where he has supported legendary singer-songwriter Holly Golightly and her band The Brokeoffs. Delaney plays his very own blend of western folk noir, a sound revered by his ever-growing number of disciples and acolytes. This will be his only South Island show before he goes on tour to America
in October. Don't miss it.

The show starts at 10pm sharp, get there early and make sure not to miss any of the musicians.
Cost $10 on the door.
