25th September 2008 - Newsletter
Live Music Lovers... time flies when you're enjoying yourself... Just over SIX WEEKS TO GO to Southern Amp 08...!! It's getting close and is already our most successful Amp yet.
No point reminding you guys about getting tickets because you've probably all got them based on ticket sales so far, BUT if you know mates who are dragging their heels, furiously saving up, being generally lame, etc, you better remind THEM that THEY need to get their tickets... and damn soon before we sell out! We're filling up folks!!
Last week's Super Saturday sensationally brought to us by Vodafone & The Edge was BIG... The special 'Threesome' ticket allocation sold through by 4pm, sorry to all those who missed out!
Ok, we said every week from now something special is going to happen. This week's promotion is on Friday 26 Sept so make sure you grab a copy of THE PRESS newspaper on Friday and check out the Music Section for another Vodafone Southern Amp cracker of a promotion, that's all we'll tell you. It's a good one, don't miss it!
Some other reminders:
1. If you haven't signed up to our Vodafone Southern Amp text alert service yet, do it soon. Leading up to gig day you'll get regular info, offers, that these newsletters won't be able to cover as we'll all be onsite and frantically getting things done. So to join just FreeTXT the word AMP to 787 on your Vodafone mobile and you're signed up. No hassle, no cost, lots of fun.
2. If you were lucky enough to get a Threesome ticket last week, get those redemption vouchers into: Vodafone Southern Amp Threesome Deal; PO Box 17559; Christchurch 8840 including a self-addressed and postage paid return envelope, and your 3rd ticket will be mailed back to you within 7 days of receipt. These MUST be redeemed by 31st October, after that they don't work.
3. The site map and stage schedules will be put up on the Southern Amp website by end of next week so you can plan your day out. We'll let you know when that happens.
Finally - If you've got mates, family or know other live music fanatics in other cities we can confirm that out of the main international bands on the Southern Amp bill only Seether and The Charlatans are playing any other NZ shows, both of them in Auckland. So that means Southern Amp will be the ONLY NZ show this year for The Dandy Warhols, The Living End, Gyroscope and Testament. You won't see those bands anywhere else in NZ.
For Wellington fans, NONE of the Main Stage bands are playing in your town at all, so come down south and see them, we'd be stoked to have you at Southern Amp 08. Pack up your car & get on a ferry or hop on Air NZ or Pacific Blue and head down to Westpac Arena Festival Park in Christchurch on Sunday 9th November. Stick around for Cup & Show Week. It's a blast.
Get your copy of THE PRESS on Friday and keep tuned into your Southern Amp newsletters or Vodafone text alerts for next week's promotion. The sun is shining, the days are getting longer, let's get rocking!
