26th June 2008 - Press Release
Celtic rockers The Stoutfellows have returned to the scene for a one-off show at The Bog Irish Bar, Cashel Mall on Saturday, July 5th - 10pm until late.
The band originally formed at the start of 1999 and up until the end of 2002 they toured and played to crowds up and down the country as well as overseas. The Stoutfellows also managed to release two full length albums in it's tenure, "The Stoutfellows" (1999) and "Stout FM" (2000). Their third album, a live effort taped at the now defunct Jolly Poacher, titled "Stout It Out Loud" (2002) was to be released in 2002 but was shelved when the band stopped playing and eventually broke up. Tracks from the album can still be heard on the bands' MySpace site for free.
The Stoutfellows play a high energy brand of Celtic flavored rock music, covering artists such as The Pogues, Steve Earle, The Waterboys and Van Morrison. They also play their own original music which has proved to be a hit live. So, fans of the band from 1999 to now will not be in for disappointment. The Stoutfellows are coming back and it's going to be like they never left us!
