Southern Amp 2008 - Just 8 weeks to go!!

With just 8 weeks to go until the South Island's biggest music festival its time to start getting some news out to you all which we'll do every fortnight from now and then every week for the last 3 weeks leading up to the event. Ticket sales are Amp-ing along and with the strict 9000 capacity limit this year, Southern Amp 2008 WILL SELL OUT before show day! Don't get caught out and make sure your Mates don't either. To make sure that doesn't happen - you heard it here first as you always do - there will be a once-off SUPER SPECIAL ticket promotion SOMETIME THIS WEEK thanks to our fantastic sponsors Vodafone, The Edge & C4. The quickest and easiest way to find out when and what this promotion is, is to FREETXT the word 'AMP' to 787 on your Vodafone mobile and details will be sent out on TXT to you during the week. If you don't have a Vodafone mobile listen out to The Edge all this week and details will be given out live on air. Through The Rock Advanced Warning and MySpace NZ KiwiHub we're on a nation-wide search for the NZ band to open the Main Stage at Southern Amp 08. Play the gig of your life on the same stage as Seether, The Living End, The Dandy Warhols, The Charlatans, Gyroscope and Testament!! All you need is a damn good band, some great music and content loaded onto your MySpace band profile and all other entry details will be at www.therock.net.nz and/or www.myspace.com/kiwihub - the search starts on September 18th for 3 weeks - Listen to The Rock Advanced Warning for all details!

While we're on MySpace/Bebo/Facebook etc, Southern Amp 08 is everywhere online... all our social networking sites are up & rocking and will be having ticket competitions as well, so search and find them online, join up and you'll get invitations to special promotions directly.

Ticket give-aways are happening all over the place at the moment if you like FREE-STUFF, but also watch out for a huge promotion for an Ibanez Guitar and Amp (specially embossed with the Southern Amp logo) which will be given away through The Press newspaper later this month! So that's the news for this week, some fantastic spring weather this weekend has suddenly made us all feel in festival mood! Bring on Sunday 9th November, the day after the NZ Government Elections... I think we'll all want a party by then...
