School of Rock is a school aimed at young musicians in christchurch of any genre who want to play in bands, and play well! We accept either individual sign ups and place them in a band that suits them, or we accept already formed bands. We focus on teaching them how to write original music and how to write it together, how to balance as a band as well as playing and performance skills.

We love to value each young person as a really important member of not only the band, but the rock school community. So it is a place that young people can belong to and feel instantly respected by all their peers and tutors.

We hold weekly tutoring in the evenings...at the moment the school is currently open tuesday and wednesday evenings.

Usually we aim for bands of 5 members, but this can alter due to each bands specific needs

You can enroll your interest whenever you like and when we have enough students to form a band is when we can start lessons. (ie at the moment i have a drummer waiting for a band)

The current cost is $220 per student a term.

We also hold instrument workshops throughout the term free for rock school students and $10 for the public.

Currently held at vision college 334 manchester st but long term we are hoping for our own building!
