21st July 2008 - Opportunities
The British Council NZ, as part of their March 2009 project "People In Your Neighbourhood" is bringing over
the acclaimed string section of USO (www.urbansoulorchestra.co.uk) for a live event and recording.
USO is perhaps the most in demand string and urban orchestra in Europe and the UK, and their list of accomplishments is second to none.
Think everything from Soul II Soul's seminal "Back to Life", to recent hits like Gabrielle's "Dreams" - the lush string sound that make those recordings Worldwide hits, is thanks to USO.
We are looking for record labels, artists and bands who would like to record with this wonderful string section, to help keep them busy for the week of March 09 when they are here.
Session fees are very reasonable, and orchestra leader Stephen Hussey is in NZ mid August for any meetings.
Please take this opportunity and contact gareth.farry@britishcouncil.org.nz for further info or to book a meeting.
Recording and live projects in the past 3 years include:
