We are now seeking a Director for the newly-created Centre of Music, Fine Arts and Theatre. This exciting senior position will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, management and operation of the Centre at the University of Canterbury.

The College of Arts, with its proud tradition of excellence in
teaching and research, offers a diverse range of programmes within the
Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Creative
Arts.
A recent review of the College has resulted in a new structure,
which will support the future development of College and enable it to
remain academically vibrant with a cohesive and complementary set of
highly marketable arts programmes for the 21st Century.
Following these changes, we are now seeking a Director for the
newly-created Centre of Music, Fine Arts and Theatre. Reporting to the
Pro-Vice-Chancellor, this exciting senior position will be responsible
for the overall leadership, strategic direction, management and
operation of the Centre and for working collaboratively with other
senior staff within the College to support the College’s overall
development. The Director will also be responsible for enhancing the
profile of the Centre as a key interface between the University and the
community.
The successful candidate will have a relevant degree (or degrees)
and significant recent senior management and leadership experience,
preferably within an arts or academic environment.
Key attributes include excellent interpersonal and communication
skills, the ability to think critically and respond creatively and
flexibly in the face of a changing environment and the ability to
develop and sustain positive working relationships.
