NZMSM
was established in 1952 and has its own unique method of teaching music
to students of all ages. Examinations for theory and practical work are
available, as well as public performance and competitions in most areas.

The
teacher trainee will be required to pass the NZMSM teaching diploma.
Contracts vary throughout the regions and applicants to this notice
will be referred to the manager of the region they live in. Some delay
in response must be allowed for due to the holiday season.

Teaching
is undertaken in schools and studios, pupils' homes or the teacher's
home. The teachers will be expected to encourage students to fulfil
their musical potential, with enjoyment being the basis for learning in
the first instance.
