Junktion was established in 2006, with it's sole aim being to serve the local alternative beats-orientated music community in Palmerston North. And while Manawatu is fortunate to have a strong and independent music foundation, we haven't been fortunate in getting the exposure and recognition that the local artists and musicians deserve.

Our main aim at Junktion is to change all that.

The Junktion Crew are dedicated to the cause and this website is our way of establishing a community for NZ djs; engineers; emcees; etc. Our hope is that this website is used as a tool for all local musicians to connect with like-minded talent and create great art and great music.

We also want junktion.co.nz to help promote the local beats community and everything that we,
as a community, have to offer.

You will read the word "community" fairly regularly throughout the website, on our CD compilations and on our forums. This is because community-spirit is what Junktion thrives on and what we want to build on.
