NZ Music Month Gig Guide

Just a couple of weeks out from another massive annual celebration of NZ Music now, and things are full steam up here at Music Month HQ. To help get as much music into people’s eyes and ears as possible during the month, here are a couple of avenues to consider:

We’ve got hundreds upon hundreds of NZ Music Month shows in our gig guide so far, but we don’t want to miss anyone out! With our new website about to launch featuring live listings powered by online gig guide Mukuna, local music fans all over the country will have no excuse not to know about a nearby live show.

Mukuna’s back-end support drives our guide, and also sends information to third party websites, widgets, and publications, as well as making listings available in selected cities by SMS messaging.

Users can text NZMM + the first four letters of the city name to 5477 to find New Zealand Music Month gigs in the following cities:

To find Auckland gigs text NZMM AUCK to 5477.
To find Wellington gigs text NZMM WELL to 5477.
To find Christchurch gigs text NZMM CHRI to 5477.
To find Queenstown gigs text NZMM QUEE to 5477.
To find Dunedin gigs text NZMM DUNE to 5477.
To find Hamilton text NZMM HAMI to 5477.
To find New Plymouth gigs text NZMM NEWP to 5477.

Texts cost twenty cents and users will never be spammed. The Mukuna SMS service is a pull service, not push, which means there is no sign up process, no subscription, and users are sent texts only in response to their queries.

Alt TV “Actual New Zealand Music Television” May 1st – 7th
Alt TV are taking up the challenge of playing nothing but NZ music for the entire first week of NZ Music Month. In their words: “With over 23 music specialist shows covering Jazz, Rock, Punk, Soul, World, 80's, Grunge, Indie, Reggae, Dance, Hip Hop and every other genre you can imagine, ALT TV will be the only music channel showcasing the huge diversity of music made all over this damn fine country 24 hours a day”.
