The Brats Embark On Perfect Pandemonium

brat agency26th August 2008 - Press Release
Few people know the music industry better then Michelle Bakker and Carla Potter. With a combined 30 years experience between them in the various fields of the industry; these two women have joined forces and resurrected the BRAT brand. The result? The Brat Agency, a global music company based in Auckland, New Zealand. This new company was only launched mid 2008 and already the Brats are making a name for themselves.

"I kept the name Brat at the back of my mind as it always got a reaction" laughs Carla. The Brats refer to themselves as Isabella (Michelle/good brat) and La Rots (Carla/bad brat) and each take on their roles as good brat bad brat when it comes to managing the agency - "I think the balance of good and bad really works in business now." Says Michelle.

The Brat Agency covers everything from project and event management, marketing - PR promotions/publicity to artist consultancy. "Our backgrounds are both so varied and we have both spent so much time doing different pockets of the {music} industry so, together as two people we can do pretty much god damn anything." Says La Rots.

The Brats proudly announced a month ago their involvement as producers of the feature documentary, "The Death and Resurrection Show". The documentary is about an English art punk band called - Killing Joke which is set for
release in June 2009. Good Brat, Michelle Bakker worked on this album alongside Dave Grohl and Killing Joke front man, Jaz Coleman together in 2003. "Working with Dave Grohl and Jaz Coleman together was amazing, the
reason why was because I was working with extreme passion, extreme joy and so much focus." Says Isabella.

Most recently Isabella and La Rots have taken on Christchurch based act, Cairo Knife Fight featuring drummer/vocalist, Nick Gaffaney. After spotting the band in Invercargill the Brats stated they couldn¹t not work with this band. "I told Michelle we need to check out this band - they're f*cking killah!" - says La Rots.

Also, fresh off the press, is the announcement of the Brats involvement in another international project "What About Me" the follow up to the double Grammy nominated film '1 Giant Leap'. The brain child of Faithless main man, Jamie Catto, this documentary is based on the music movement of the world and features renowned musicians: Santana, Michael Franti, KD Lang and Michael Stipe.
