Shuriken is a collision of creative and production skills from around the world, based in Christchurch on the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. Shuriken has produced, directed and edited an extraordinary range of work, both here and overseas.

Our music video credits run to Gramsci, Phoenix Foundation, Shocking Pinks, Minuit, Pine, Fang and dozens more. And, as part of the UK based company State, Richard Bell has also produced over 500 music videos for international artists including U2, Nick Cave, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Henry Rollins, Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Depeche Mode and The Pixies - to name just a few. We've made NZ commercials for New World, Hellers, Harcourts, and Christchurch City as well as producing international ones for Flora, VANS and Nike amongst others.

With our production credentials including the globe’s biggest musical and corporate names, Shuriken brings together world-class production, crew and post-production facilities. Shuriken owns and rents out 35mm, 16mm and Super 8 film equipment, and 2 un-compressed Final Cut Pro edit suites. With very strong links to laboratory and telecine in Wellington we are capable of the full range of production options.
